Mountain National Bank customers and employees of the Justice Center Branch, Blount County exceeded last year's donation of time, money, and personal items to Haven House by over 25%. Mountain National Bank made a donation to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program for the 2012 Christmas Toy Run.

SCFM also has a thrift store located at 890 Old Knoxville Highway with clothing, household items and home décor and all proceeds from purchases goes directly to buy food.

Cell phones are important to a victim of domestic violence as one of the most resounding actions of an abusive partner is to destroy the victim's cell phone in an effort to have control over the victim keeping the victim isolated and unable to seek help or escape. SAFESPACE OF EAST TENNESSEE distributes 3 to 4 cell phones per week to victims of domestic violence. Since their beginning in 1976, SAFESPACE has expanded to provide free services not only for the immediate safety needs of abuse victims and their children but to educate, support and promote community awareness about domestic violence and its far reaching effects in Jefferson, Cocke, and Sevier counties in East Tennessee. Employee Campaign Drive for Local Soldiers

Employee Campaign Drive for School Children

Mary Lou Mayfield, right, Electronic Bank Specialist with Mountain National Bank, recently headed up a campaign with MNB employees collecting and donating plastic grocery bags for The Gatlinburg Backpack Ministry presenting thousands of bags to Jean Tarpley, a volunteer for the ministry.  The Gatlinburg Backpack Ministry distributes over 500 bags of food to five area schools for children in need providing them with food for weekends and holidays.  Your donation of plastic grocery bags may be dropped off at the First Baptist Church on Oglewood Lane in Gatlinburg.

Donation to Local Food Bank for Building Expansion

Sevier County Food Ministries now serves 1,123 families per week up from 764 families per week. The ministry is in need of more space for storage and for food distribution. Also roof repairs are needed at the current facility. Donation to SafeSpace

Mountain National Bank has made a donation to SafeSpace. Suzanne Lambert, left, Assistant Vice President of Mountain National Bank presents the donation to Van Wolfe, Executive Director of Safe Space. SafeSpace is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides shelter, support and empowerment to the victims of domestic violence. SafeSpace is dedicated to end domestic violence in the lives of all people, especially women and children from Sevier, Cocke and Jefferson counties of Tennessee. This past fiscal year, they sheltered 268 victims and also served over 2,200 non-sheltered victims. Employee Peanut Butter Drive

Employees of Mountain National Bank collected peanut butter for the Donna Landgren Community Food Connection. Mary Bettis, right, a volunteer of the food connection accepts the donation from Bill Bailey, Branch Manager of the Justice Center Branch of Mountain National Bank. The Donna Landgren Community Food Connection serves thousands each year in Blount County and distributes food to families in need three days per week. Donation from Bank to Fire Departments

Mountain National Bank has made a donation to the Sevier County Fire Chiefs Association to assist with the funding of a new fire safety trailer. The fire safety trailers are used as a teaching tool that local fire departments use to educate children and adults.
