MNBMobile Banking – Convenient and FREE!

General

How much does this service cost?
There is currently no charge from MNB associated with this service. However, there may be charges associated with Text Messaging and Data Usage on your phone. Please check with your wireless carrier for more information about possible fees.

Is it secure?
Yes, the mobile banking service utilizes best practices from online banking, such as HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption, PIN, or password access and application time-out when your phone is not in use. Only the phones that you personally enroll in the service can access your accounts. In addition, no account data is ever stored on your phone. In the event your phone is lost or stolen, the service can be immediately disabled by either logging in to Internet Banking and selecting Mobile Banking, or by calling Electronic Banking Customer Service during normal banking hours at 865-908-1600.

What are the requirements for enrolling?

  • First, you must enroll for MNB’s Internet Banking.
  • If you ARE currently an Internet Banking User and want to use Mobile Banking, LOGIN NOW to your current MNB Internet Banking profile and click on the “Mobile Banking” option on the left sidebar menu.  Activate the accounts you wish to access** using Mobile Banking by checking the box next to the desired account(s), click “Save”, and then “Continue to Mobile Banking” to proceed with the MNBMobile enrollment process.
  • If you ARE NOT currently an Internet Banking User and want to use Mobile Banking, CLICK HERE to enroll now for Internet Banking.  Once this enrollment has been processed you will be able to login and enroll for MNBMobile Banking.
  • The minimum requirement for a Mobile Communication device would be a phone that is equipped for inbound and outbound Text Messages*.  Although there are other options which utilize “Mobile Web” access, it is NOT a requirement for using Mobile Banking.  Simply sign up for MNBMobile Text Message Banking through your Internet Banking login.
  • Although not required, a Text Messaging package is recommended to avoid unexpected charges.  Please check with your wireless carrier for more information about possible fees.

*IMPORTANT:  Please be sure that neither you or your Mobile Carrier have blocked your phone/account with them for either incoming or outgoing “short code” messages such as the five digit number you will use for Text Banking 79022

I'm not enrolled for Internet Banking. Can I still use MNBMobile?
You must first enroll for Internet Banking before using MNBMobile.  If you are not currently an Internet Banking User and want to use Mobile Banking, CLICK HERE to enroll now for Internet Banking. Once this enrollment has been processed you will be able to login and enroll for MNBMobile Banking.

What is “Activation”?
Activation is a one-time process that helps ensure your security. Once you have logged in to your secure Internet Banking profile and have enrolled a phone number, you will receive an activation code within the secure system which will be required in order to begin using Text or Mobile Banking on your device. We recommend that you print your activation code and instructions for easy reference during installation.  The same activation code may be used to activate any and/or all three types of the MNBMobile Banking Services on the phone number enrolled, but it must be used within 24 hours or it will expire.

Mobile Web Banking

What are MNBMobile Web and MNBMobile App Banking?
Mobile banking gives you access to your accounts from your mobile web browser or via a downloadable mobile banking application, depending on your preference and the capabilities of your mobile communication device/phone.

What is the difference between MNBMobile Web and MNBMobile App Banking?

  • MNBMobile Web is accessed via your phone’s Internet Browser using the URL www.mnbmobile.com or by saving it as a “Favorite”.  Information transmits via secure data communication process.  The connection and navigation speed of MNBMobile Web is dependent on the strength of your cellular signal.
  • MNBMobile App allows you to actually download an App to your iPhone, iPod Touch, BlackBerry, Android, or other compatible "Smart Phone" or Mobile Communication Device. Once the App is downloaded, an "MNB" icon will appear on your home screen. The App usually provides very quick access and the connection and navigation speed are not necessarily dependent upon signal strength. Please contact Electronic Banking Customer Service during normal banking hours at 865-908-1600 if you have questions regarding the compatibility of your mobile device.

How do I access MNBMobile Web Banking using my phone's browser?
After successful activation, your phone will receive a text message with your Mobile Banking URL. You may save the URL as one of your “favorites” or you can also visit the site to sign in at any time by typing www.mnbmobile.com into your phone’s browser.

Select which accounts you wish to access via mobile banking, enroll your mobile phone number, accept the Terms and Conditions, and follow the activation instructions.

How do I optimize my mobile web experience?
Ensure your phone's browser has cookies enabled. In addition, if applicable, enable stylesheets for the best viewing experience.

How do I navigate Mobile Web Banking links with my phone's browser?
To navigate links you can click on the link, highlight the link and click on it, or highlight the link and copy and paste it into your web browser, depending on the settings and capabilities of your mobile device.

How do I install the MNBMobile App downloadable application?

  • Once you enroll your phone for Mobile Banking via your Internet Banking profile, you will receive a text message from 79022. Select to view (or open) the message (you can also view it later by going to your phone's text message inbox).
  • Select the URL link –www.mnbmobile.com -- in the text message. This is typically done by selecting a command on your phone's menu, such as "Connect" or "Go To."
  • You will then be brought to a page with a Download link. Click this link to download the application.
  • When finished, you will be notified that the download has completed.
  • After launching the application for the first time, you may be asked to give permission to access the data network. You will need to grant permission in order to proceed.
  • Depending on your mobile device, you may be asked to restart/reboot your phone.
  • The MNBMobile App is also available at the iTunes App store: DOWNLOAD iPhone APP HERE and at Google Play: DOWNLOAD Android APP HERE

Will MNBMobile Web and/or MNBMobile App Banking be supported on my phone?
MNBMobile Web Banking is supported on most all phones with a mobile web browser that supports cookies. In addition, the downloadable MNBMobile App is supported on a growing number of mobile devices.  Please contact Electronic Banking Customer Service during normal banking hours at 865-908-1600 if you have questions regarding the compatibility of your mobile device.

Troubleshooting

I enrolled my phone number but did not receive a Text* Message. What should I do?
Typically you should receive a text message from 79022 within a few minutes after enrolling, however sometimes mobile carriers experience delays which slow down text message delivery. While waiting, make sure you phone has wireless signal. In addition, be sure you entered the correct phone number on the enrollment site. If you still do not receive it, contact your wireless carrier to be sure text* messaging is enabled on your phone.

*IMPORTANT:  Please be sure that neither you nor your Mobile Carrier have blocked your phone/account with them for either incoming or outgoing “short code” messages such as the one you will use for Text Banking: 79022

I received an activation code but never used it. What do I do now?
Activation codes expire after a specific period of time (usually 24 hours). If you need a new one, log in to your MNB Internet Banking profile and return to the Mobile Banking Center and request a new activation code.

What happens if I get a new phone or change phone numbers?
If you get a new phone or change phone numbers, be sure to return to Mobile Banking website via your Internet Banking and update your phone profile in the Mobile Banking Center. If your phone number changes, you will need to remove your old phone number and add your new one.  If the capabilities of your phone change, you may wish to remove your phone number (even if the number has not changed) so that you can re-enroll and change your Mobile Banking usage preferences.

Can I use Mobile Banking or Text Banking on more than one phone?
Yes, you may enroll for Mobile Banking on multiple phones**.  Simply log in to your MNB Internet Banking Profile, select “Mobile Banking” and choose “Add phone”.  You will complete the same enrollment and activation process for this new phone number.

**IMPORTANT NOTE:  Although more than one phone number may be listed on Mobile Banking under one Internet Banking login, and different phones may utilize different Mobile Banking options, it is important to know that accounts selected as accessible on Mobile Banking will be available to ALL phones listed on that profile.  Caution is advised regarding enrolling non-owners’ phones on any Internet Banking profile.

Can I use one Phone Number on more than one Internet Banking Profile?
No, although you may enroll for Mobile Banking using multiple phones, a phone number may not be enrolled on more than one Internet Banking Profile at a time.

I activated MNBMobile Web Banking on my phone's browser. Why am I being asked to activate again?
At the time of activation, a "cookie" is stored on your phone's browser which allows the Mobile Banking system to remember that you have been activated. Some phones may require you to enable cookies or periodically erase them, requiring re-activation. If you are experiencing this issue, check your phone settings to ensure that cookies are enabled. If cookies are enabled and the issue persists, consider using an alternative mobile web browser with strong cookie support, such as Opera Mini (which can be found by visiting mini.opera.com on your phone's browser).

What if my Mobile Phone/Device is lost or stolen?
If you believe that the Mobile Phone or other approved access device used for Mobile Banking has been lost or stolen, log in to Internet Banking immediately, access the Mobile Banking page from the “Account Summary” menu and disable or remove the device from your profile.  During normal banking hours, you may call MNB’s Electronic Banking Customer Support.  It is also recommended that you promptly contact your Mobile Services Provider for their instructions regarding your mobile service.
